Favorite Cars
This site is dedicated to my favourite car brands, this is completely subjective and you will likely have your own list of favourites like Laurent Van Dessel on his car blog. That being said the makers on my list are widely regarded as some of the top brands in the business so there is a pretty good chance that we will find some common ground. As you can see from the makers I have chosen I have a strong preference for makers of high performance cars. Since this is true of most car enthusiasts it is likely that most visitors will agree with most of the selections on my list.
The bulk of my list is made up of brands that build the really high end sports cars, this would include companies like Ferrari, Lamborghini and Maserati. These are the cars that most people dream about owning but will never be able to afford. In this respect the top of the list is a company that few people have heard of. Pagani are the builders of some of the worlds top super cars. Since they produce fewer than fifty of each of their models it is unlikely that you are going to see many of them on the street. With a price tag of more than a million dollars they are definitely in the dream car category for most people.
Also included on the list are the makers of luxury cars, again these are going to be dream cars that are out of reach of most people and would include makers like Aston Martin, Bentley and Alfa Romeo. And of course there is the granddaddy of the luxury car market the Rolls Royce. When it comes to status symbols there is nothing that compares to a Rolls. Again these cars are produced in very limited numbers and are very expensive. If you can afford one you will really stand out.
Of course the list of my favourite cars can't just be limited to brands that nobody can afford. There are also the cars that provide high performance and luxury and offer at an attainable if not cheap price. This would include makers like BMW, Mercedes and Audi. They all have reputations for producing very high quality cars that perform well and allow you to drive in comfort and style. However these are cars that are not out of reach for may people, there are millions of them on the road.
The list wouldn't be complete if it didn't include the top car makers that manufacture cars that the majority of people could afford. This would include companies like Nissan, Ford and Volkswagen. These are companies that have built their reputations by building affordable cars but still providing quality, and equally important for this list good performance. The fact is that Nissan produce cars that can rival anybody when it comes to performance but with a much lower price tag. These are the cars that most of us are going to be driving.
